The Little White Dress (LWD) is sizzling for summer. Without a doubt, white is in…
But not for me…
Don’t get me wrong, I think that a LWD would be perfect for a mid-summer adult evening out, but honestly, I would need to get dressed in the car on the way to the restaurant after kissing my three little ones goodnight just to ensure that my dress would remain unscathed. Let’s face it, a white dress is just not at home with my children, who are perpetually covered all summer long in watermelon remnants and popsicle sludge.
So, this Saturday, I kicked off a fun weekend filled with family and friends in none other than a classic, Little Black Dress (LBD). This cotton blend J. Crew dress was just the right length for wrangling the crowds at Poppy and Stella’s stock room sale.
And for chasing the kids around on the riverside at an afternoon family -friendly party.
It even lasted into an evening of dinner and drinks with friends.
From Betsey Johnson sunnies to BCBGeneration wedges, all I needed to do was switch out my accessories to feel fresh and appropriate. Most of these accessories are all currently for sale in my Poshmark closet (username:clothingqueen).
Interested in the dress? It’s a thrifty find, perhaps one-of-a-kind, and it will be in my closet in a couple of days.
I kicked off this weekend with a few fabulous sales in some of Baltimore’s finest clothing boutiques: Poppy and Stella (http://poppyandstella.com/), Cupcake (http://cupcake-shop.com/), and Babe (facebook.com/babeaboutique). I was after accessories and these shops did not disappoint. From clutches to kimonos, I racked up on a dime and had an amazing time with some new friends and one of my favorite fellow fashionistas. I love all of my new goodies but I am particularly smitten with my two pairs of two toned kicks from Poppy & Stella: Dolce Vita sandals and Sam Edelman heels. These will both go with anything and I can not wait to style them with everything!
An amazing morning, well spent kicked off an terrific weekend with family and friends.
