This weekend was the perfect time to break out some killer heels and style them in three different ways. Earlier this summer, during Poppy and Stella’s (http://poppyandstella.com/) super shoe sale, I spotted these Sam Edelman “Okala” heels and I knew that they would help my feet fall gracefully into Fall. I love the two-toned look and they are actually very comfortable. So comfortable, in fact, that I wore them from Saturday night to Sunday evening! They survived three wardrobe changes and kept on stylin’
Saturday night, I paired them with a J Crew Denim Skirt and Zara 3/4 length sleeve shirt with faux leather shoulder embellishments. I was casual but fierce for a little Fells Point bar crawl. I devoured tacos at Papi’s (http://www.papistacosfells.com/), manchego at Tapoas Adela (http://www.tapasadela.com), and a bit of Brie and brussel sprouts at Bond Street Social (http://www.bondstreetsocial.com/) with a dear friend, and that doesn’t include the drinks. My heels weathered the cobble stone streets, and “we” stumbled upon the 200th Star-Spangled Banner Celebration! The most amazing fireworks I have ever seen!
We had a fabulous night in our fun city of Baltimore.
Luckily, I wasn’t out too late and made it to church on Sunday morning. I did decide to wear my Saturday night shoes for Sunday morning communion but, of course, I styled them a little differently. A patterned dress came together with the heels when partnered with brown vintage baubles. The service went long (always does on communion Sunday) but the message was good and I felt renewed for a busy week.
Finally, when a last minute date dinner swung my way, I could do nothing but allow my new favorite footwear to continue its winning streak. I paired my heels with boyfriend jeans and subtle sparkly stripes for a quick bite (sans kids) at our local watering hole. The heels dressed up my distressed denim and the opportunity to catch up with my husband before the week kicks off is always delightful!
What a weekend! What a pair of shoes :)
