There is just something about 3:30AM in our house. For the second night this week, I began my blog after a post-nightmare, wee-hour cry-out. My kids seem to roll right back over and are fast asleep in seconds while I am left wide-awake with thoughts of tomorrow’s busy day and shoes “running” through my head. Some people count sheep, I count shoes. No, this is not the first time that a “shoe department” stroll has been on my “why I am awake at this ungodly hour” agenda.
But, last night, instead of scrolling through Nordstrom’s online shoe feed, I was actually “dreaming” about the ways to style my new favorite shoe, the d’Orsay. Yesterday, I picked up two versions of this shoe style while on a little shopping spree with my mini-me (my daughter). I have been crushing on these for weeks, and I am so happy to finally have two pair in my possession (above).
So, you say, what is d’Orsay. Well, technically it is “A woman’s shoe in which the vamp of the shoe is cut away very close to the toe box, and the sides are cut away, revealing the arch of the foot.” (http://shoes.about.com/od/choosingtherightstyle/g/dorsay.htm)
I managed to find two “vamp” cut, “arch” revealing, on-trend options within just hours yesterday. The heels, Calvin Klein’s from TJMaxx, will be the accompaniment to my Easter Day ensemble. And, the black, all leather flats are a vintage thrift find. These unique shoes are an everyday take on this style, which will accompany several of my spring outfits, and will then land comfortably in my Poshmark closet (https://poshmark.com/closet/clothingqueen) for your purchase. I actually wore them today on a theatre field trip with my eldest(http://instagram.com/p/mnDL9NLpHd/).
So, I hope that I have inspired you to show a little arch as you search for the perfect spring shoe.
